Another interesting TWD

Extrala already posted it on his blog a few weeks ago as his VTES deck of the month but for me it’s worthy of another mention.

First: here’s the deck list

Deckname: Diary of a Mad Love Song (after the great mixed-cover song by A Perfect Circle)

Description/Notes: As with all Khazar’s Diary decks, you need to get out your minions and pop them to put counters on Khazar’s. You need at least one Anarch vamp as soon as possible. Bring out the Cry Wolf(s), attack your prey to weaken or torporize their vamps or attack other table threats. Then when they pop they become a counter for Khazar’s.
Use Piper when you have too much intercept being dished out. I found that using the Piper instead of a ‘Forced Hunt’ helped out a few times when I knew I wouldn’t have the stealth. Vessel and Jake Washington work very well together as they both happen in your Untap.
Also, Grey Thorne’s ability (to add one to his life from a ready anarch) was a great way to burn blood off a vamp so that you can use Jake Washington. With Sudario Refraction I ended up playing 8 Jake Washington’s in one game (all burned for blood).
Once the Khazar’s gets fully vested, remember that all your Giovanni get superior Necromancy. Other people tend to forget that, so use it to your advantage. Then make those Wraiths and bleed, bleed, bleed.

As this blog is slightly focused (oxymoron i know) on Anarch related tech for vtes it’s really an interesting twist on the standard Khazar deck. I’ve always liked using Cry Wolf for odd combos and this is the deck to do it with. Anarch Giovanni was one of the ideas percolating in my head but i never got around to posting a deck list. Now someone has won a tourney with it! Kudos to the designer/player!
